Up
By James Hartley & Tom Sutton
James has been working as a commercial artist for the last 16 years, developing from hand painting and drawing to photography and computer manipulated work. He is now happily married with three children and lives in St Albans.
James is obsessed with everything technical, consistently creating in a digital workspace. He outputs his work on to high quality photographic paper for maximum detail. Much of his output is streaked light, blurred light, and amoeba.
Tom was born in 1965. After studying at Birmingham University with
James Hartley, both artists set up gather:no:moss in 1987. Tom has been
creating art and design for 16 years, his work has been used for a
myriad of things including couture fashion, magazine covers, interior
design, packaging and many more.
Tom works mainly digitally, through mono printing and watercolour on
paper. Stripes, waves, many kinds of textures and opticals are his
calling card.
